Andy has been drawing and painting since 1993. He has never studied art formally, relying instead on occasional workshops and peer-review to improve his work.
He is most comfortable with drawing, usually in graphite pencil, but also enjoys using charcoal and pastels. When not drawing, he enjoys painting in watercolours. Andy has recently taken up oils, painting mainly with palette knives.
Most of his watercolours are landscapes or seascapes featuring large skies. In fact, his watercolours are often best described as skyscapes with a bit of foreground. He struggles with subjects that have a pulse or petals.
He hasn't exhibited much in tha past, but that changed when he retired, in 2011, from a long career in I.T. As well as art, his interests include gardening and cycling and he endeavours to reduce his impact on the environment by living more sustainably.
