Sue Manton

Sue at the easel

I have been painting since 2003 and my artwork reflects my love of bright colours. I say "never knowingly beige" and that is what I try to create with my art. I paint in Oil, Acrylic, Watercolour and Colour Pencil depending on the subject because realism also plays a major part in what I choose to paint, but it is most likely the colour which draws me to a subject in the first instance.

Flowers might be my first love, but as I live in East Kent I am surrounded by beautiful scenery including seascapes in and around Deal and the buildings in the medieval town of Sandwich.

TreePeonies

My colour pencil work has been accepted for exhibition at the Society of Botanical Artists in London and I have also exhibited with Leisure Painter magazine at their Open Exhibition at Patchings Art and Craft Centre in Nottingham.

I regularly exhibit and sell my work at local exhibitions. I am a member of Canterbury Society of Art and East Kent Art Society.

I am pleased to undertake small commissions and some of my pictures of East Kent are hanging in private homes in Europe, America and Australia.

All my paintings are available as giclee prints, canvas prints or greetings cards (which I print myself).
